Our school serves those people of
West New Britain who want a high
quality, private education for their
children. We are the only private
Secondary School in the province
offering a dual International and
PNG curriculum.
The majority of our students'
parents work for NBPOL (New Britain
Palm Oil Ltd) which has its
headquarters based in Mosa. We also
have a large number of parents who
own or manage businesses in and
around the Kimbe township.
Kimbe has a wide diversity of
cultures from all around PNG. This
is due to the fact that Palm Oil
provides a strong economic base for
the province and therefore people
come from other parts of PNG to find
work here.
The expatriate population is made up
mainly of British and Australians
and the occasional Kiwi. There is a
growing Asian population largely
based around businesses in Kimbe
township.
Prior to the introduction and
subsequent strong growth of Oil
Palm, most plantations grew Coconut
palms. Other crops grown here
include cocoa and vanilla.
West New Britain abounds in water
sports, with resorts providing
opportunities for diving, snorkeling
and fishing. Kimbe Bay is reputed to
have greater marine diversity than
that found in the Great Barrier
Reef!
The Kimbe International School
community reflects the rich cultural
diversity of West New Britain.
