Papua New Guinea is an amazing
country full of diverse cultures and
incredible natural beauty. There are
lots of different cultures and over
800 different languages are spoken
throughout the country.
We live on the island of New
Britain, which is north-east of the
mainland and is only 5 degrees south
of the equator.
Kimbe is the main town in West New
Britain.
We have two distinct seasons. Our
Wet season (and I do mean wet!) runs
from early November to the end of
April. We receive over 4000mm of
rain annually. Our dry season (which
is still a bit wet!) runs from May
to October. The weather at this time
is still very warm but the humidity
drops slightly.
